Assessment Policies

Students studying the School Certificate and the Higher School Certificate are informed in writing through an Assessment Booklet the following information:

• The components for each course as specified in the course requirements;
  

• The weightings of each task in relation to the total requirements for the course;

• The nature of each assessment task eg. Formal examination, written task, oral task;

• The school's policy regarding illness, misadventure and malpractice in assessment tasks and 'N' Awards;

• The school's policy regarding late submission and non-submission or non-serious attempts at assessments tasks and;

• Copies of:
  • Application for Extension of Assessment Task.
  • Class Assessment Task Register.
  • 'N' Award Letter.

Students are informed of the dates of all Assessment Tasks through the respective Assessment Booklets. The booklet outlines each subject's Assessment Schedule.

It is the responsibility of each student to be aware of all these conditions. Ignorance or forgetfulness will not be accepted as legitimate excuses.
